About Dr. Paolone

Vincent Paolone, M.D. is a board certified psychiatrist and certified to recommend Medical Marijuana in Boardman, Ohio.
He treats adolescents aged 13 and older, adults, and geriatric patients with a wide variety of mental health diagnoses. Dr. Paolone's treatment focuses on psychiatric medication, but he also provides psychotherapy with a cognitive-behavioral approach.
He attended Harvard University from 1984 to 1988 and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From 1988 to 1992 he attended Ohio State University College of Medicine. His internship and residency were at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation from 1992 to 1996.
He has worked in the Youngstown area since 1996 and has treated patients in many different settings: inpatient psychiatric unit, inpatient medical unit, and outpatient. He obtained his board certification in psychiatry in 1997 and passed his recertification test in March 2017. He has practiced at St. Elizabeth Hospital and at various outpatient locations. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine and has helped train medical students, internal medicine residents, and family practice residents. He became Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry and Medical Director for Psychiatric Services at St. Elizabeth Hospital in April 2006. Then, in May 2007, he left hospital work and converted to 100% outpatient at his private practice in Boardman. He also speaks German and Spanish.
